RIDING & ROAD SAFETY

BRITISH HORSE SOCIETY

This formal BHS qualification is great for all horse riders who currently or plan to ride on the roads. It covers the highway code, safety on the road, rights of way, where to ride, and emergancy information.

This course is also necessary in the gaining of your BHS stages and will enhance your CV Greatly.

The course, both training and exam is taken at Barrow Hall Stables, where BHS examiners will attend on your final exam. The exam includes theory, simulated and actual road routes.

Taken by more than 4,000 candidates a year, the Riding and Road Safety Test helps educate riders in road safety in order to minimise the risk involved when riding on the roads. The test is available to all riders from 12 years of age and is supported by the Department for Transport. It is the only test that any rider will undertake that has the potential to save not only their own life but that of their horse and other road users as well.

Test dates and training will be availiable to view on the 'News' page as and when they are arranged.
